Gordon Holmes and his Wines for Wheelchairs project makes mobility possible to those who never believed it could be theirs. Poverty already handicaps and for some the prospects of living an independent life are further diminished when physical or health issues add yet another obstacle. Gordon’s approach is sublime; through the many friendships and relationships he has forged over the years, he has gathered like-minded souls to help raise a vineyard, make the wine, and nurture a project that benefits others. Hedonistic marries humanistic and the union takes shape in the gift of wheelchairs for the needy. 

Gordon's wife, Kari, was diagnosed with a rare form of MS that made her increasingly dependent upon a wheelchair. With intimate knowledge of the  barriers encountered due to a disability, Kari and Gordon decided to do something to help those who were least likely to receive help. Gordon, with the dedication of friends and family, make wine as a vehicle to achieve for others a transport of another kind - and one that has changed the lives of thousands of children and adults alike through Wine for Wheelchairs.
